20 Self-Respect Tips

1. Stop looking for who is not looking for you. Chasing the wrong people delays the right ones.

2. Stop Begging for Love, Attention, or Respect. Self-respect begins where begging ends.

3. Stop saying more than is necessary. Not everything needs to be explained.

4. When people disrespect you, confront them immediately. Silence is not strength when your worth is on the line.

5. Don't eat other people's food more than they eat yours. Give as much as you receive.

6. Reduce how you visit some people, especially if they don't reciprocate it. Effort should be mutual, not one-sided.

7. Invest in yourself. Make yourself happy. Time spent on you is never wasted.

8. Stop entertaining gossip about other people. Be known for wisdom, not whispers.

9. Think before you talk. 80% of how people value you is what comes out of your mouth. What you say writes your value.

10. Always look your best. Dress the way you should be addressed.

11. Be an achiever. Get busy with your goals. Ambition attracts more than attention ever will.

12. Respect your time. Don’t waste it where you're not growing.

13. Don't stay in a relationship where you don't feel respected and valued. Walk away.

14. Learn to spend money on yourself. That's how people will learn to spend on you.

15. Be scarce sometimes. Disappearing sometimes reminds people of your worth.

16. Be a giver more than a receiver. People remember how you made them feel.

17. Don't go where you are not invited. And when invited don't overstay your welcome.

18. Treat people exactly the way they deserve. Respect those who respect you. Distance from those who don’t.

19. Value is mutual. Don’t keep dialing where you're not respected—unless they owe you.

20. Be good at what you do. Be the best you can be. Excellence earns respect without asking for it.
